Bear vs. Tiger?

Today at the geography after-tea beer drinking, a number of us grad students entered into an important debate that I believe must be shared. If there were a pay-per-view cage match between animal species (to raise money for protecting endangered species, of course), who would win out of certain pairings? The Bear vs. Tiger part of the debate left a heavily divided table. As any graduate worth his salt would do, I'll say some b.s. about sources and dialogues with participant actors, when really I'm googling for interesting things to add to this. Here's some crap that comes up when searching "tiger fights bear":

1. A website by a self-proclaimed tiger expert, this is his ridiculously long and un-rigorous paper called "Interspecies Conflict". Page 9 & 10 are the bear pages. His apparent answer? Size matters.

2. An actual cage fight! Some Japanese-narrated video of a black bear and what is actually a female lion fighting in a zoo cage. One must ask why the fuck these two animals are in the same cage. The verdict here: black bears can't finish what they start.

3. This one is in the wild, but has excellent camerawork. This one is a fight between a grizzly bear and a mother mountain lion. The intercut close up of the distressed lion cub is alternately cute and hilarious. The verdict here: not much fighting, but don't fuck with mama.
